Naturally negative

Naturally negative - that's me.

That's why I spend as much time as possible with my head stuck in the Bible, reading worthwhile books and surrounding myself with some people who are faith filled.

One of my favorite Proverbs is from the Bible; it's Proverbs 27:17 (NIV):

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

What's one of your favorite Proverbs and why?

By the way, the reason for this picture being used here is because, in my mind at least, there's a real comparison between negatives and me. Photos are just negatives until they go through a process to become photographs. I'm just negative until God's process in my life - via the Holy Spirit and the Bible, people He brings into my life, books I read, circumstances - brings about changes in me.

Proverbs 9:10. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding." This si a reminder to me that i am truly not as wise as I think I am. I know nothing without God. To sift everything through the Word is true wisdom.

Inge' - I can see why this is one of your favorite Proverbs. I need to remember too that I'm not as smart as I sometimes think I am.

I haven't heard that saying before, I love it.

I admire that you read the Bible and other books to lift yourself up. That's amazing.

Thanks for stopping by Maria. I find that the more I read the bible, the more I want to read it.

You are so right, Tracy. I love that reading the Bible literally does transform our minds and cause us to think differently. I also really love the parallel you made with the photograph negative. Great word picture!

Very nice to *meet* you! I've enjoyed reading your site.

Um, favorite Proverb? That would have to be Proverbs 31. Mainly because it's so practical in breaking down what a godly woman should strive for. God knows me and knows I need specifics. He's so good. :-)

You're right Chel, God is so good!

Proverbs 31 is Awesome. To be candid, the fact that I need to grow in my acceptance of God's unconditional love shows by the fact that I tend to feel guilty and less than when I read the description of the godly woman.
