Here's a prayer by Avery Brooke, taken from Plain Prayers for a Complicated World
.It's a prayer that I pray today:
"Help us not to fool ourselves with words, God, with talk of being sorry when we are not sorry, with talk of sacrifice when we have no intention of sacrificing, with talk of action when we are too lazy to act.
Where our vision is dim, help us to see. Where our hearts are imprisoned by fears, release them. And when we see and feel Your truth, give us the courage to act."

i saw your comment on one of my posts. i'm sorry i wasn't that keen to check on my comments. Anyway, my dad has a girlfriend and the sad part here is that she has a husband, but in a rehab center. that's why i hate them both
Jenny - I'm so sorry.
I can see why you'd be disappointed in your dad for having a girlfriend who is still married. As a grateful Al-Anon member I can understand the temptation of your dad's girlfriend to get involved with another man (but of course it won't solve her problem!). It's a tough situation so of course your emotions are high.
Know that I pray for you, and for both of them.

Inge', I fixed it so that the name of the book will click you through to Amazon. It was published in 1993 but Amazon doesn't carry it; however, they do have sellers you can connect with who do sell it.
