So what does the fact that tomorrow is Valentine's day mean to you?Possibly the fact that I absolutely could not resist this cupid caught with his own arrow picture says something about me.
As far as love goes, I'm so much more fortunate in my life than I by any means deserve. Above all else I have been given the love of God that reaches beyond all situations, events, and any actions on my part. Then I have a husband who really knows me and still chooses to love me. I've got three sons who I love so much I would gladly die for them; although sometimes the younger two who are teens do drive me crazy. I've got friends who love me though good times and bad times and for whom I am grateful. So, if Valentine's day is about love, then I'm in.
It's just that I'm not much for mush. Whenever I go to the store to buy a Valentine's day card, I can feel my anxiety mount as I read them. My husband is great and I tell him so daily in real specific ways. But the stuff they say on these cards....it just doesn't fit me.
Then there's all the expectations. I've never been too great on expectations.
But enough about me.

Having my God, and my husband, those are the greatest valentine gifts.
I'm a bit like you in this...I tell and show my husband daily how I feel about him; and my God, well, I don't think I could ever tell Him enough. :-)
But I don't appreciate all the hype and commercialization of Valentine's Day. It probably started out as a great idea, but I don't think the way it's done now really does the idea behind it justice.
Romance = good
Mushy goo = bad
Everyday to me feels like "Valentine's" because of Him, then all the relationships He blessed me with, starting with my DH and loving child. Have a great "love" day and God bless you sister Tracy.
I must concur with much of what has already been said by you and the other bloggers commenting. I try every day to express to God and my wife how much I love them. Unfortunately, my love is so imperfect that I mess it up...frequently. Hopefully they understand my effort.
Having a wonderful family and load of amazing friends makes me so happy. There is no necessity for a special occasion. Love is something that can be shared each and everyday. Valentines day for me is just a day to thank them all and God.

I love my husband, but I have a hard time with cards too. So I either make them, or scratch out and replace words on store purchased cards.

I loved Valentines Day being on Sunday! It allowed me to worship in one accord with some of my brothers and sister and thank God for giving me my lovely wife.
Like Christmas, Valentines Day can be too commercial if you let it.

I just think it is a good day to be with you life partner and share intimate momnets we have had over the years (45) and look forward to many more in love and devotion to each other.
