Today I find myself thinking about Haiti.
I read today that Haitian President Rene Preval told CNN that the death toll had already reached between 30,000 and 50,000 after his impoverished nation was struck by a 7.0-magnitude quake this past Tuesday. The country is continuing to experience the aftershocks and Minister Jean-Max Bellerive said the number of dead could eventually reach "well over 100,000".
The presidential palace, UN mission headquarters, the Hotel Montana (a luxury hotel that attracts tourists and business travelers), and numerous hospitals and schools are all collapsed. For up to date information regarding what is happening in this situation you can see what Carel Pedre, a local celebrity DJ and TV presenter, says on his twitter page or check Google Videos to find the most recent videos posted about what is happening in Haiti.
If you feel a tug at your heart to help out in some way, Samaritan's Purse already started responding yesterday. You can check out what they are doing and how you can help.

Let's keep Haiti in our prayers. Blessings to you sister.
This horrible disaster had to be centered in not only the poorest location in the Western Hemisphere, but in it's only failed nation state as well.
I would urge everybody to give something to help these poor people. If youre reluctant to part with your hard-earned money before giving it to a certain charity, you can check out if they distribute their money efficiently at charitynavigator.org
Praise God that my faher-in-law's father-in law checked in today for the first time since the quake struck. Amen.
We need to pray without ceasing for them.

This is so sad in an area that is poverty stricken already. Lets pray that all the relief agencies there already can get organized and get relief to all that are effected quickly.
