Perfect Detachment

Sometimes I find that I've become too attached to the way I want things. This prayer by St Ignatius Loyola encourages me to aspire to a different way of life, one in which I am not the center of my focus and universe. I hope that this prayer may be an inspiration for you too:

Grant, O Lord, that my heart may neither desire nor seek anything but what is necessary for the fulfillment of Thy holy Will. May health or sickness, riches or poverty, honors or contempt, humiliations, leave my soul in that state of perfect detachment to which I desire to attain for Thy greater honor and Thy greater glory. Amen.

Beautiful prayer! Yes, even our humiliations are part of God's plan. May we walk in humility...

People have different request.

I have my own request that must be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

There is no such thing as universal request.

You have food but I don't have.
You have job but I don't have.
You are rich and I am poor.
Your are healthy and I am sick.

Your prayer is different from mine.

The prayer is good in fact perfect but generalized.
